By using SimpleImporter (the WordPress plugin) or this website, you agree to these terms. We've written them so a regular person can read them. If something isn't clear, email hello@simpleimporter.com and we'll explain.
The free version of SimpleImporter, distributed through WordPress.org, is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2+), like all WordPress plugins. You can use, modify, and redistribute it under the terms of the GPL.
When you purchase SimpleImporter Pro for $249, your license grants you:
After the 6-month support window ends, the plugin continues to work normally and you continue to receive plugin updates. The only thing that lapses is access to direct email support. If you want continued priority support, you can optionally renew for $59.99 per year. Renewal is optional. You do not have to renew, and the plugin keeps working either way.
The Pro plugin code is also licensed under GPLv2+ (per WordPress requirements). The license key, update access, and support are licensed under these terms.
We reserve the right to deactivate a Pro license key if it is being used in violation of these terms (for example, shared publicly, sold to a third party, or used to bypass our license validation). If we revoke a license for cause, no refund is owed. If we revoke a license for any other reason (a change in our policy, discontinuation of the product), you are entitled to a prorated refund of any unused renewal payments.
SimpleImporter is provided "as is." We've tested it carefully and use it ourselves, but software has bugs. We make no warranty that it will be error-free, fit a particular purpose, or work with every theme and plugin combination on the market.
Before importing data into a production WordPress site, back up your database. This is true for every import plugin ever made. We are not responsible for data lost during an import gone wrong, but we will help you investigate and fix what we can.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to SimpleImporter is limited to the amount you paid us for the plugin (which is $0 for the free version). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost revenue, lost data, lost business opportunities, or third-party claims arising from your use of the plugin.
Pro purchases are covered by our refund policy, which is a 7-day money-back trial for purchases under 100 rows of Pro use. The full refund policy describes the qualifying conditions and any exclusions. By purchasing Pro, you agree to that policy.
Free users: best-effort community support via the WordPress.org plugin support forums.
Pro users: priority email support with a response target of 24 business hours (usually faster) during the 6-month support window included with your purchase. After that window, you can optionally renew support for $59.99 per year, or continue using the plugin without paid support.
We may add features, fix bugs, or improve the plugin over time. We may also occasionally remove features that are deprecated or unmaintainable. We try to be careful about backward compatibility, and we will give Pro customers advance notice of any breaking changes through plugin update notes or email.
If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the date at the top and notify Pro customers via email to the address used at purchase. Continued use of the plugin after notification means you accept the changes. Minor wording fixes do not trigger notifications.

You may stop using SimpleImporter at any time. If you have a Pro license, you can deactivate it from your WordPress admin or by emailing us. We may terminate your Pro license if you materially breach these terms, as described in Section 5.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes that cannot be resolved through good-faith communication will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SimpleImporter regarding the plugin and this website. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
